I am eighteen years old from Ethiopia. I was born in a Christian family and have been a Christian my entire life. However, being Christian did not make life easy. I found myself struggling because the education system in my country was so poor. I knew that I had the choice of just living life aimlessly or living it pursuing my dreams, so I left my country and went to Sudan to fulfill my dream of becoming a fashion designer. Unfortunately, the war in Sudan forced me to flee. 

My journey to Europe had been a difficult one. When I was walking through the desert in Africa to escape, I had to drink water from the ground to stay alive. The water caused me to be very sick, and thought I was going to die. There were times where I have been beaten violently by the authorities. Though I found myself in times of hardship and grief, I never lost the hope for a better future. Many people have asked me how I can still believe in Jesus even after all the struggles I have experienced. My answer is simple, He is the only reason I can continue through hardship. There is no way I could deny Him. It is a miracle that I am alive today, and I know that God has kept me alive for a purpose.
